Considering the principle of continuous improvement and development as a basis, Erkunt Sanayi A.Ş. continues its activities necessary for incorporating the management systems, consisting of IATF 16949 Quality Management System, ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System, ISO 50001 Energy Management System, Ford Q1 Quality System, German Germanischer Lloyd and British Lloyd’s Register. that have a customer and process oriented management concept, which will create a difference in its sector, requested by the customers and required by the sector.

With ISO 14001 Environmental Management System,Erkunt determines and evaluates the environmental impacts which are occurred as a result of its activities; takes the significant impacts under control; continuously improves its environmental performance; diminishes the wastes at their source; prevents environmental pollution by recycling the wastes coming out of the process or disposing the wastes by means of licensed firms and conforms all legislations relating to the environment.

With ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System, Erkunt creates safe, healthy and efficient working conditions in order to prevent injury and health worsen, defines the hazards that may cause occupational illnesses and working accidents, prevents and eliminates the hazards that may arise from our activities, diminishes to the minimum work and labor losses that may arise due to industrial accidents and occupational diseases, conforms all legislations relating to the occupational health and safety, continuously improves the effectiveness of the integrated management system and its performances, to review these periodically by setting objectives and targets, intended for processes, provides all the information and necessary resources to perform them, defines, evaluates and reviews the risks and opportunities and to decrease and minimize the risks; creates a corporate culture that is open to continuous improvement based on the cooperation and feedback of the relevant parties, by training all our employees, suppliers and subcontractors, and ensuring the consultation and participation of all our employees and employee representatives.

With ISO 50001 Energy Management System, Erkunt complies with the energy-related legislations, measures energy consumptions, determines important energy performance indicators, consider energy consumption in the design and purchasing process, carries out continuous improvement studies for efficient use of resources and makes necessary investments in order to reduce energy consumption.

Erkunt has passed from the conformity audits in respect of rules and regulations determined by Lloyd’s Register Company, and made its name added to the Lloyd’s Register List of Approved Cast Iron Manufacturers and also became an approved supplier of the maritime sector.
Erkunt has been audited for compliance with the rules and regulations set by the German Germanischer Lloyd company and has become the approved supplier of the maritime industry.
With the Ford Q1 Quality System, Erkunt has taken one of the most prestigious awards in the Automotive industry and moved its quality management system to the international platform. As an approved supplier for both the factories in Turkey and the other factories around the world of Ford, Erkunt has expanded its market. In addition, the opportunity to benchmark with other suppliers in the same segment in the world has been provided.
5S ACTIVITIES
5S is one of the tools of Lean Production method and which also underlies Erkunt production system. 5S activities are carried out effectively with a unique operation in our facilities. Main aim is to prevent 8 main wastes where we apply 5S. While carrying out those activities, optimal layout will be formed including environmental, occupational health & safety and effective stock managerial issues. Another goal in 5S is to increase corporate profit while increasing operational productivity.
LEAN ACTIVITIES
We try to make a difference with Lean Manufacturing in order to compete within the framework of today’s technological changes, shortened product life and customer expectations. Kaizen projects used in order to determine the root causes of the problems and to provide lean culture change in our facilities. Those activities firstly started in the production processes and then extended to all processes in Erkunt. Lean method and tools used within the corporate strategic objects with wide range of participation including both operator and top management levels. These projects are the reason of preference by our customers as they represent the importance given to the principle of economic sustainability and continuous improvement.
AUTONOMOUS MAINTENANCE
We are using autonomous maintenance tool in various processes.
Autonomous Maintenance Achievements
- By the help of maintenance team, machine operators started to take their own responsibilities for early breakdown detection and maintenance operations.
- Autonomous maintenance is a teamwork which includes production& maintenance operators/leaders and engineers therefore teamwork culture has been improved.
- While operators, which have an important role in team, started to make routine maintenance and controls, their operational level is reached to detecting machinery abnormalities.
- Common knowledge share on the same aim has been constituted among the team members.
- While the time spent by the operator decreases with autonomous maintenance work, the actual work done has been increased.
- With autonomous maintenance, machine operators started to embrace their own machines and their workload has been reduced by kaizen projects.
In order to increase the autonomous maintenance level, planned activities are also carried out.
EARLY EQUIPMENT MANAGEMENT
Early equipment management is a lean manufacturing tool that covers the entire design, procurement, installation & commissioning and operation processes starting from the decision making. Main aim of this study is to look out for all the important corporate benefits in all investment related stages.
Investments are evaluated with the investment A3 reports which includes payback analysis, life cycle costs, maintenance needs, equipment quality performances etc.
With the activities carried out, investments made since 2018 has been ensured to operate with maximum level of OEE and minimum failure / downtime.

Çevre Raporu
Şirketimizin öncelikleri arasında yer alan Çevre Koruma Faaliyetleri kapsamında yürüttüğümüz çalışmalarımızı “2017 Çevre Raporu” ile sizlerle paylaşıyoruz.
- Riskleri yerinde görmek, tehlikeli davranışları azaltmak için, İSG & Çevre DOJO Eğitim Sınıfımızda” yaparak öğrenme metodu ile eğitimler verilmeye başlanmıştır.
- Erkunt-1 Döküm ve Makine Fabrikamız ile Erkunt-2 Döküm Fabrikamız için Çevre ve Şehircilik Bakanlığından “Çevre İzin ve Lisansı Belgesi” alınmıştır.
- Her ay geri kazanılan hurda atık miktarı Çevre Bakanlığına “Kütle Denge Raporu” ile beyan edilmektedir.
- Bir önceki yıl kullandığımız ambalaj malzemeleri ve miktarları Çevre ve Şehircilik Bakanlığına sunulmuştur. ÇEVKO (Çevre Koruma ve Ambalaj Atıkları Değerlendirme Vakfı) ile yaptığımız sözleşme yenilenmiştir.
- Bir önceki yıla ait atık miktarları ve atıkların teslim edildiği firma bilgileri Çevre ve Şehircilik Müdürlüğüne sunulmuştur.
- Faaliyetlerimiz sonucu 2017 yılında çıkan atıklarımız kategorilerine göre kaynağında ayrı toplanıp, geçici depolama alanlarımızda depolanmış ve lisanslı geri kazanım veya geri dönüşüm tesislerine sevk edilmiştir.
- Mutfaktan çıkan atık yağların teslim edildiği Biodizel Geri Dönüşüm firması ile yapılan sözleşme yenilenmiştir.
- Çevre Yönetim Sistemimiz kapsamında periyodik olarak Saha Denetimleri yapılmıştır.
- Çevre Yönetim Sistemimiz kapsamında takip ettiğimiz Süreç Hedeflerimiz ve gerçekleşen değerler her ay gözden geçirilmeye devam etmektedir.
- Çevre Yönetim Sistemi ve Çevre Kanunu kapsamında İç Denetim ve Takip Denetimi gerçekleştirilmiştir.
- Çevre Yönetim Sistemimiz kapsamında her ay Karbon Ayak İzimiz ve Su Ayak İzimiz hesaplanmıştır.
- ISO 14001:2015 Çevre Yönetim Sistemi Belgemiz, 3 tesisimizde yapılan “Dış Denetim” sonucunda yenilenmiştir.
- Fabrika genelinde mavi yaka çalışanlarımıza Çevre Yönetimi Uygulamalarımız hakkında hatırlatma eğitimleri verilmiştir.
- Fabrikalarımızın atıksu Kanal Bağlantı Ruhsatları yenilenmiştir.
- Çevre Kanunu gereğince yaptırılan Tehlikeli Kimyasal Sorumluluk Sigortası önümüzdeki yıl için yenilenmiştir.
- Çevre Kanunu kapsamında Aylık Değerlendirme Tutanakları ve Yıllık İç Tetkik Raporları hazırlanmıştır.
- Çevresel acil durumlara hazırlıklı olmak için, “Çevresel Acil Durum Tatbikatı” yapılmıştır.
- Çevre Panoları ve Erkunt Bültende yer alan Çevre Köşesi yazıları ile güncel çevre konuları tüm çalışanlarımızla paylaşılmaya devam etmektedir.
İş Sağlığı ve Güvenliği Raporu
Şirketimizin öncelikleri arasında yer alan İş Sağlığı ve Güvenliği Faaliyetleri kapsamında yürüttüğümüz çalışmalarımızı “2017 İSG Raporu” ile sizlerle paylaşıyoruz.
- Riskleri yerinde görmek, tehlikeli davranışları azaltmak için, İSG & Çevre DOJO Eğitim Sınıfımızda” yaparak öğrenme metodu ile eğitimler verilmeye başlanmıştır.
- Riskleri görünür hale getirip, iş güvenliği kültürünün hayatımızdaki önemini vurgulamak için fabrikalarımızda “Tiyatro Organizasyonu” düzenlenmiştir.
- 2017 yılı İSG programı ve hedefleri oluşturulmuş ve takibi yapılmıştır.
- Fabrika genelinde işe yeni başlayan çalışanlarımıza İSG Oryantasyon ve Bilinçlendirme eğitimleri verilmiştir.
- Ziyaretçiler, taşeronlar ve üçüncü taraflarla ilgili fabrikaya giriş formları ve buna bağlı olarak devreye alınan talimatların işlerlikleri takip edilmiştir.
- Acil durumlar için fabrikalarımızda tatbikatlar yapılmıştır. Tatbikat öncesi ve sonrası eğitim verilmiştir.
- OHSAS 18001 İSG Yönetim Sistemi kapsamında İç Denetim ve Takip denetimleri gerçekleşmiştir.
- 2017 yılında İSG ile ilgili geri bildirimler alınmış, değerlendirilmiş ve gerekli faaliyetler başlatılmıştır.
- 2017 yılında gerçekleşen ucuz atlatmalar için iyileştirme çalışmaları başlatılmıştır.
- Günlük ve Yıllık saha denetimleri yapılmıştır.
- 2017 yılında çeşitli ortamlarda İç Ortam Ölçümleri yenileme çalışması yapılmıştır.
- Her ay belirlenen gündem maddeleri ile İSG Kurul Toplantıları düzenlenmiştir.

- 2017 yılında fabrikalarımız genelinde Değişiklik Yönetimi sonucu yeni ekipman ve süreç bazlı risk değerlendirmeleri yapılmıştır.

2018 Energy Report
- We present our studies performed as part of Energy Management System Activities, which is among the priorities of our company, with the “2018 Energy Report”.
- Our energy consumption used in our Erkunt-1 and Erkunt-2 plants has been reported to the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources.
- Energy monitoring results and objectives on the basis of departments in 2018 were periodically followed up and presented to the top management.
- With Kaizen projects related to air leakage, the proportion of air leakage was decreased as 25%. Sustainability continue with the projects.
- Our diesel consumption has been continued to be reduced, throughly electric forklifts superseding diesel forklifts.
- Vehicle identification system linked to the license tag has been established in order to examine diesel consumption for existing diesel forklift and trucks
- As part of the VAP project, the LED lighting project has been approved by the Ministry. The implementation studies continue.
- With the articles related to the energy in the Erkunt Bulletin, current issues continue to be shared with all our employees.
- Energy gains continue to be evaluated in the improvement Works in the scope of Kaizen projects
- Sustaining of the energy analyzer reporting system has been continued and follow-up points have been increased.
- Luminous intensity measurements are made periodically in the work areas.
- Employees have been trained for the changing invoicing process in the scope of the Last Source Supply Tariff
- Regarding the Last Resource Supply Tariff, contracts were renewed for our three locations by negotiating with energy supply companies.
